Silicon Valley Season 3 returning on HBO network. As the series keep the laughs rolling, HBO has decided to renew the episodes starting at the end of April 2016.
Full-on comedy from HBO
Silicon Valley is a new American comedy TV show premiered on HBO on April 6, 2014, consisting 8 episodes. This series is about six programmers which are trying to run their own startup company in Silicon Valley because they are sure that unimaginable fortune may be only an app away. The idea of the show belongs to Mike Judge who created "Beavis and Butt-head" and "King of the Hill". But before it, he really worked in Silicon Valley as a programmer and that experience of startups industry was put into the series scenario. We can see Mike’s life in Silicon Valley by his main character Richard whose innovative idea isn’t actually a joke. Mike’s coauthors are John Altschuler (King of the Hill, The Goode Family) and Dave Krinsky (Blades of Glory).
Cast
Silicon Valley is a full-on comedy about tech geeks in the modern world. Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) is a shy programmer who is working at tech giant Hooli and at the same time is developing his own music app, Pied Piper. When Richard creates a revolutionary data compression algorithm for his app, which shows better results than any of its competitors, Hooli CEO Gavin Belson (Matt Ross) proposes a US$4 million buy-out of Pied Piper algorithm. While another “Silicon” billionaire Peter Gregory (Christopher Evan Welch) offers a $200,000 investment for 5% ownership in the company. After having a think, Hendricks accepts the second offer and becomes the owner of the startup, though he has a little understanding of management.
Richard hires his friends and partners Erlich Bachman (T. J. Miller), Nelson "Big Head" Bighetti (Josh Brener), Bertram Gilfoyle (Martin Starr), Dinesh Chugtai (Kumail Nanjiani), Donald "Jared" Dunn (Zach Woods) to fight for tech scoop together. This symbiosis is both smart and funny.
Growing popularity and new season predictions
Silicon Valley has a huge crowd of fans including critics. The sitcom is built-up with a strong cast that can be a match for many cool comedies (The Big Bang Theory). It has tech theme which is extremely appealing to the modern audience. And it has really witty writing. Many of us can think that tech topics and habits from the real Silicon Valley can be hard to be a funny bone but we can recognize a good joke and sometimes it is even funnier than we expected. It means the creators think about those who are watching the show, they understand what the audience are as users of technology, when we use social media and other tech stuff and why it is so appealing to us.
The producers can see the huge popularity of the series. Critics adore it and regard as the most wide-appeal and hilarious show that HBO has had in ages. It has also won Critics’ Choice Television Award as Best Comedy Series in 2015. The official announcement, made by the HBO programming president Michael Lombardo, promises Silicon Valley new season date release on April 24, 2016.
