An American sitcom create by Chuck Lorre. Started in the beginning of autumn 2013 and captured our hearts with its warmth and kind humor. The series was aired by CBS and Distributed by Warner Bros. Mom received numerous nominations and awards. The reviews were positive both from the critics and from the viewers. Mom series tells us about Christy Plunkett (portrayed by Anna Faris). She’s single. She had hard time in the past fighting with her worst qualities – addiction to alcohol and drugs. Her mom named Bonnie Plunkett (portrayed by Allison Janney) is also addicted and recovering at present. Christy has to deal with her daughters and everyday troubles on her own.
Moral Issues
The show turned out to be positively “addicting”. It reveals the themes of alcoholism and drug abuse and ways to deal with it. It’s about violence at home, facing unplanned pregnancy, homelessness and serious health issues. All of this is wrapped into a warm story of one American family portrayed by beautiful and really talented actresses and actors.
Characters
Anna Faris portrays Christy Plunkett – a single mom fighting with her addiction. She’s sober right now and does her best to serve a good example for her kids. She’s got harsh relationships with her mom, but tries not to quarrel patiently dealing with her awful character.
Allison Janney portrays Bonnie Plunkett. Cynical Christy’s mom. Didn’t give enough love and attention to her daughter in her childhood because of addiction to alcohol of the past. She’s recovering, trying to somehow balance relationships with her daughter to deserve her trust.
Sadie Calvano portrays Violet Plunkett – one of Christy’s daughters. Smart, hardworking, trustworthy. She’s extremely upset with her mom. Violet gave birth to a child whom she decided to give up for adoption not to repeat her mom’s fate. Has serious troubles building romantic relationships.
Nate Corddry portrays Gabriel – Christy’s co-worker and her love interest.
Matt L. Jones portrays Baxter – Christy’s former husband. He’s a kind-hearted and caring person, but, unfortunately, very unstable about his professional and personal life.

The soundtrack used as an opening theme was composed by Mikhail Glinka in the beginning of the 19th century. That’s an overture from Russian music classics Ruslan and Lyudmila opera.
Release Date Info
The show has growing ratings, that’s why we surely can say it won’t be cancelled. It was successful in its third season, which started in autumn 2015. On the 25th of March 2016, Mom was officially renewed for season 4. The official release date is the 27th of October, 2016. The fourth season is on the stage of production at present.
Update: Mom Season 4 New Release Date
First of all, no, there were no sudden reschedules. Yes, the fourth season came out not too long ago, but now, there’s another release date anyway. How’s that possible? Actually, it’s quite simple. The series had a finale midseason. But, since it wasn’t canceled, it’s going to be restarted soon enough. And we’re not going to have to wait for it to come out since that will happen in less than a month.
Mom Season 4 Part 2 release date will be January 5, 2017. Perhaps, not a Christmas present but still a good surprise.
