Dancing with the Stars is a reality competition TV series created and released in the USA. The release was carried out by ABC with the first season release date on the 1st of June 2005. The original idea for the project was taken out of a British TV series with the same format known as Strictly Come Dancing. The presenter of the show is Tom Bergeron together with Erin Andrews, 18th season co-host. The co-hosts have been changing throughout the series. Dancing with the Stars season 24 release date hasn’t been announced yet, but the producers have promising news to share!
Format
In every new episode of Dances with the Stars, a celebrity trains and performs with a professional, well-known experienced dancer. The task is to perform a predetermined dance competing with other couples. The couples are watched by a panel of Judges giving each of them a certain number of points. The audience also has a chance to vote for a couple they prefer. In accordance with the results of the voting, one couple is eliminated from the project every week. Only one pair remains to get the main prize.
All 23 season of Dances with the Stars has been filmed with the participation of 261 celebrities in total. A partner that a celebrity is paired with needs to instruct and train a celebrity for a certain performance. The aim and style of the dance are usually defined beforehand. 43 professional dancers have already participated in the filming of this competition series.
Cast
Tom Bergeron has presented the project since 2005. In every season, he was co-hosted. Lisa Canning so-hosted Tom in season 1. Samantha Harris replaced her for season 2 and stayed until season 9. In season 10, Brooke Burke-Charvet replaced her till season 17. In season 18 Brooke was replaced by Erin Andrews. Leah Remini appeared in the project to co-host in season 19. The co-hosts were sometimes replaced by other celebrities on certain occasions for short periods of time.
The regular judge’s panel consists of Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. They were several times replaced by former Dances with the Stars contestants.
24th Season Air Date
In spring of 2016 Dances with the stars was officially prolonged for seasons 23 and 24. We will let you know when ABC announces the official release date of the upcoming 23rd installment.
