The Amazing World of Gumball is an animated project created all together by Irish, British and American studios. The creator of the project is Ben Bocquelet. Cartoon Network ordered it for the channel. The production matters are carried out by Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe. The new episode of the first season premiere was released on the 3rd of May 2011.
The show follows Gumball Watterson, a 12-year-old protagonist of the story. He’s a cat who attending middle school. The action takes place in an imaginary world – in a city named Elmore. Gumball is constantly followed by his faithful companion – his adoptive brother Darwin, a goldfish. They interact with the members of their family and other characters portrayed by the supporting cast. Bocquelet used the idea of his personal commercial work. The show turned out to be a blend of habitual family shows and school shows. It’s what Cartoon Network likes most.
The show looks unique because it has almost no stylistic unity. The designs of the characters and the ways of filming are carried out in different styles – traditional animation, puppets, stop motion, Flash and more. The Amazing World of Gumball passed through numerous stylistic alterations throughout its history. It’s clearly seen right after the release of season 2. After almost every new episode, the audience notes changes in character designs, quality of animation and even the style of the plotline itself.

Reception
The reviews were quite mixed but mostly favorable. The Amazing World of Gumballwas several times called a clever spin on domestic chaos. The show looks attractive, probably, due to it’s unique and skillful silliness. It became one of the mainstream TV shows for kids with a lot of imaginative elements, visual attractiveness and daring narration.
