Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (the original title looks like Valérian et la Cité des mille planètes). That’s a new big screen sci-fi project planned to be released in the mid-summer of this year. That’s a French adventure action film created under the production and direction of Luc Besson. The project was inspired by a series of comic books released in France under the title Valérian and Laureline. The original idea belongs to Pierre Christin, the writer and Jean-Claude Mézières, the illustrator. The cast includes Dane DeHaan portraying the character of Valérian and Cara Delevingne playing the role of Laureline. Plot
That’s a science fiction saga full of epic elements. Valerian (portrayed by Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (portrayed by Cara Delevingne) work for the government as operatives. They track the activity of human beings on the territories and deal with the order of things in the universe. Valerian is deeply interested in his partner and not only from the professional point of view willing to restructure their relationship into something more romantic. However, Lawrence always rebuffs him. Their Commander (portrayed by Clive Owen), sends the main characters on a special mission to the city of Alpha inhabited by a number of various species. There are seventeen million inhabitants in the city of Alfa in total. They are extremely different from all points of view, but they managed to unite their abilities and create their personal world with better technologies and perfect ways for getting resources. However, not all of the citizens have the same point of view on the development of the society. Some unseen forces create great danger for the wellness and positive future of the local society.

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets Release Date
The worldwide premiere is planned for the 21st of July 2017. The released will be carried out by EuropaCorp. The French premiere is planned for the 26th of July 2017. In the UK and Ireland the release will be carried out by Lionsgate.
